Description

The DS3502 I2C Digital Potentiometer allows you to let your microcontroller adjust the resistance for you! Talking over an I2C bus, your Arduino, CircuitPython board,  or Python-powered computer can talk to the DS3502 and tell it to vary its resistance at your back and call.

Working with the DS3502 is easy as an I2C controllable pie. We’ve put it on a breakout PCB with the required support circuitry and SparkFun qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors to allow you to use it with other similarly equipped boards without needing to solder.

This handy little helper can work with 3.3V or 5V micros, so it’s ready to get to work with a range of development boards. The DS3502 is a simple chip that does one thing well and so it’s very easy to work with. Wire it up and set the value for the wiper, that’s it. To make things even easier we’ve gone and written Arduino and CircuitPython/Python 3 drivers to simplify interfacing with your new knob-replacing friend.

The wiper value is a 7-bit number meaning there are 128 possible levels of resistance to choose from 0-10K ohms. You can even set a default value that will be set on power-up. The analog voltage-controlled can be from 4.5-15.5V. Additionally, you can use the address jumpers or pins to set the I2C address to one of four values, allowing you to have four DS3502s on the same I2C bus.

Features:

  1. Allows microcontrollers to adjust the resistance
  2. Communicates via I2C bus
  3. Allow similarly equipped boards to connect to the potentiometer without any need to solder them
  4. 7-bit wiper value with 128 possible levels of resistance
  5. 0Ω to 10kΩ resistance range

The SparkFun ATECC608A Cryptographic Co-processor Breakout allows you to add strong security to your IoT node, edge device, or embedded system. This includes asymmetric authentication, symmetric AES-128 encryption/decryption, and much more. This ATECC608A has limited Arduino support and the complete datasheet is under NDA with Microchip.

This breakout board includes two Qwiic ports for plug and play functionality. Embedded in the chip is a 10Kb EEPROM array that can be used for storing keys, certificates, data, consumption logging, and security configurations. Access to the sections of memory can then be restricted and the configuration locked to prevent changes. Each ATECC608A Breakout ships with a guaranteed unique 72-bit serial number and includes several security features to prevent physical attacks on the device itself or logical attacks on the data transmitted between the device.

This is a STEMMA I2C breakout for the Infineon OPTIGA TRUST M SLS 32AIA.

OPTIGA Trust M is the next generation of Trust X. OPTIGA Trust M brings RSA 1K/2K + ECC256/384.

A crypto authentication chip much like the ATECC608 STEMMA we put into the shop last week, but with: ECC NIST P256/P384, SHA-256, TRNG, DRNG, RSA® 1024/2048 and 4.5K of user memory.

This chip can store your private keys securely, as well as generate true random numbers, which is what we’ve got going on in this demo below. Check out https://github.com/Infineon/optiga-trust-m for the Arduino library

Comes with a bit of 0.1″ standard header in case you want to use it with a breadboard or perfboard.  Four 2.5mm (0.1″) mounting holes for easy attachment.
