Description
A Battery Management System (BMS) is a smart element of a Li-ion battery pack responsible for monitoring and protection. The lithium-ion batteries can be used only in specified conditions, and therefore battery management system is essential in order to monitor battery state and ensure the safety of operation.
A battery management system (BMS) is an electronic module that controls a rechargeable battery (cell or battery pack), such as by protecting the battery from operating outside its safe operating area, monitoring its state, calculating secondary data, reporting that data, controlling its environment, authenticating it.
The SmartElex 3s BMS device is a highly integrated Li-ion switched-mode battery-charge controller. The device offers a constant-frequency synchronous switching PWM controller with high–accuracy charge current and voltage regulation, charge preconditioning, termination, adapter current regulation, and charge status monitoring.
The device operates on a 19V DC 5A(minimum) wall adapter that connects through DC Jack or 2 pin connectors onboard. Our SmartElex 3s Li-ion board supports up to 7A. SmartElex 3s Li-ion BMS have various protection like Overvoltage, Undervoltage, Overcurrent during discharge (OCD). SmartElex 3s Li-ion BMS have Status LEDs indicating battery status by which we will know cell in overvoltage, under-voltage.
