Description

This S-Type load cell can convert up to 200kg of pressure (force) into an electrical signal. Each load cell can detect changes in electrical resistance as a result of the strain (pressure or force) applied to the form. This gauge can be used to measure how heavy an object is, if its weight changes over time, or simply to detect the presence of an object by detecting strain or load applied to a surface.

Each straight bar load cell is made of alloy steel and can hold up to 200 kg. In these load cells, four strain gauges are coupled in a Wheatstone bridge design. On the connection wiring, red denotes E+, green denotes O+, black denotes E-, and white denotes O-. Furthermore, these load cells have an IP66 protection certification and two M4 and two M5 sized through-holes for attachment.

It has Four lead wires which can be connected to  HX711 A/D Pressure Sensor.  It is easy to use with driving voltage 5-10V and produces the output voltage as per the force changes over it.

A force-sensing resistor is a material whose resistance changes when a force, pressure or mechanical stress is applied. They are also known as force-sensitive resistor and are sometimes referred to by the initialism FSR. Play media. The Ohmite FSR Series (Force-Sensing Resistors) exhibit the unique characteristic of dynamic resistance related to the amount of applied force. In general applications, the more force applied to the surface of the sensor, the lower the resistance. The resistance change is inversely proportional to the applied force. At their core, Force Sensing Resistors are devices that produce a decrease in electrical resistance as more physical force or pressure is applied to them—putting them in the broader category of piezo resistive devices.

Applications:

  • Airbag sensors
  • Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
  • Machine-Machine Interface (MMI)

Features:

  1. Three individual designs (square, circle, and strip).
  2. Terminal options (bare, solder tab, and connector).
  3. Connector equivalent to Nicomatic 14106-12.
  4. Each sensor can operate up to 5 KG of force.
  5. Small, thin and light.
  6. Largely immune to EMI and water events.
  7. Low power.

Packages Includes:

1 x OHMITE FORCE SENSING RESISTOR 02AH9088.

FSR series is a force sensing resistor that exhibits the unique characteristic of dynamic resistance related to the amount of applied force. Typical force-sensing resistors are characterized for HumanMachine Interface (HMI) or Machine-Machine Interface (MMI) applications with a sensing range from circa 20g to 5Kg. Specific device characteristics will depend on the size, shape, and materials used in construction. Force-sensing resistors are intended for applications where a delta in applied force is to be detected. They are not intended for high accuracy or specific weight measurement applications.

The SparkFun OpenScale is a simple-to-use, open-source solution for measuring weight and temperature. It has the ability to read multiple types of load cells and offers a simple-to-use serial menu to configure calibration value, sample rate, time stamp, and units of precision.

Simply attach a four-wire or five-wire load cell of any capacity, plug the OpenScale into a USB port, open a terminal window at 9,600bps, and you’ll immediately see mass readings. The SparkFun OpenScale will enable you to turn a load cell or four load sensors in a Wheatstone bridge configuration into the DIY weigh scale for your application.

Onboard the SparkFun OpenScale is the ATmega328P microcontroller, for addressing your communications needs and transferring your data to a serial terminal or to a data logger such as the OpenLog, an FT231 with mini USB, for USB to serial connection; the HX711, a 24-bit ADC for weighing scales; and the TMP102, for recording the ambient temperature of your system. The OpenScale communicates at a TTL level of 9,600bps 8-N-1 by default and possesses a baud rate configurable from 1,200bps to 1,000,000bps.

The OpenScale was designed for projects and applications where the load was static (like the beehive in front of SparkFun HQ) or where constant readings are needed without user intervention (for example, on a conveyor belt system). A load cell with an equipped OpenScale can remain in place for months without needing user interaction!

Features:

  1. Selectable 10SPS or 80SPS Output Data Rate
  2. Local & External Temperature Sensors
  3. Fixed & Adjustable Gain

Package Includes:

1 x SparkFun OpenScale

The ADP800 sensor family is Aosong’s series of digital differential pressure sensors designed for high-volume applications. The sensors measure the pressure of air and non-aggressive gases with superb accuracy and no offset drift. The sensors cover a pressure range of up to ±500 Pa (±2 inch H2O / ±5 bar) and deliver outstanding accuracy, also at the bottom end of the measuring range. The SparkFun Load Cell Amplifier is a small breakout board for the HX711 IC that allows you to easily read load cells to measure weight. By connecting the amplifier to your microcontroller you will be able to read the changes in the resistance of the load cell, and with some calibration, you’ll be able to get very accurate weight measurements. This can be handy for creating your own industrial scale, process control, or simple presence detection.

This version of the SparkFun Load Cell Amplifier features a few changes that you specifically asked for! We have separated the analog and digital supply, as well as added a 3.3uH inductor and a 0.1uF filter capacitor for digital supply. Need even more? Check out the SparkFun Qwiic Scale. It has all the features of the HX711 but with additional library support, a true I2C interface, and no soldering required!

The HX711 uses a two-wire interface (Clock and Data) for communication. Any microcontroller’s GPIO pins should work, and numerous libraries have been written, making it easy to read data from the HX711. Check the hookup guide below for more information.

Load cells use a four-wire Wheatstone bridge configuration to connect to the HX711. These are commonly colored RED, BLK, WHT, GRN, and YLW. Each color corresponds to the conventional color coding of load cells:

  1. Red (Excitation+ or VCC)
  2. Black (Excitation- or GND)
  3. White (Amplifier-, Signal- or Output-)
  4. Green (A+, S+ or O+)
  5. Yellow (Shield)

The YLW pin acts as an optional input that is not hooked up to the strain gauge but is utilized to ground and shield against outside EMI (electromagnetic interference). Please keep in mind that some load cells might have slight variations in color-coding.

Features:

  1. Two selectable differential input channels.
  2. On-chip active low noise PGA with selectable gain of 32, 64, and 128.
  3. On-chip power supply regulator for load-cell and ADC analog power supply.
  4. On-chip oscillator requiring no external component with optional external crystal.
  5. On-chip power-on-reset.
  6. Simple digital control and serial interface: pin-driven controls, no programming needed.
  7. Selectable 10SPS or 80SPS output data rate.
  8. Simultaneous 50 and 60Hz supply rejection.
