Description

CAN communication protocol is the most used communication protocol in automotive industry and applications requires high speed communication as it is capable of speeds upto 1Mbps. We need a module to convert the serial data in the CAN data format to be put on CAN bus and this CJMCU-2551 MCP2551 CAN Protocol / High Speed CAN Interface Controller does exactly the same. It converts the serial data that it can receive from any microcontroller like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or PIC and put it out as CAN messages and vice versa. It supports both 12V and 24V application systems. It is compatible with ISO-11898 standard physical layer requirements. The module also provides a buffer between the CAN controller and the high-voltage spikes that can be generated on the CAN bus by outside sources like EMI, ESD, electrical transients, etc.
