global shutter 1280×800 resolution OV9281 camera module is mainly designed for Raspberry Pi boards, and it can be connected directly to RPi’s CSI-2 camera interface without additional hardware. One adapter board can connect FOUR cameras on a single Raspberry Pi board, and includes support for the High-Quality Camera

The sensor’s global shutter and excellent low-light sensitivity allow it to be used for any application that needs gesture detection, head, and eye tracking, and depth and motion detection. With this capability, device manufacturers can implement a monochrome or NIR camera device and reduce memory use by using the Y8 stream format. A monochrome camera can serve as the underlying physical camera of a logical multi-camera device to achieve better low-light noise characteristics  The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 2 replaced the original Camera Module in April 2016. The v2 Camera Module has a Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor (compared to the 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5647 sensor of the original camera). The Camera Module 2 can be used to take high-definition video, as well as stills photographs.
