The STMicroelectronics VL6180X Time of Flight Ranging Sensor embeds ST’s patented FlightSense™technology that allows distance to be accurately measured independent of target reflectance. The sensor is rated to perform ranging measurements of 5-100mm, but it can provide readings up to 200mm in a good environment. Besides, VL6180X is also equipped with an ambient light sensor, so basically, this is a sensor that combines proximity ranging and ambient light level measurement capacities into a single package

Benewake TF02-i LiDAR Distance Sensors are updated single-point ranging LiDAR based on TF02-Pro. These sensors have been optimized in communication interface, input voltage, and reverse protection. The TF02-i sensors come with an IP65 enclosure rating, 100Hz frame rate, and 100Klux ambient light immunity. These distance sensors operate from 7V to 30V supply voltage range and -20°C to 70°C temperature range. The TF02-i LIDAR ToF Optical Ranging Sensor is a unidirectional ranging LiDAR, which is mainly used in height ranging and terrain-following of drones, supporting flight controls like Plixhawk, APM, TopXGun, EFY Technology, aiAero, DAISCH, etc.

The protection design of the TF02-i is based on the IP65 level, which prevents it from dust, water, and corrosion. It is anti-inferential from the strong light outdoors. It can work under 100K lux light without interference from the temperature, humidity, light, electronics, and airflow.

The TMF8801 is a time-of-flight (ToF) distance-ranging sensor that measures distance by measuring the time difference between light pulses. It allows for single-zone detection of an object regardless of its color, reflectivity, or texture. The sensor has a wide dynamic range and can detect objects at distances of up to 250cm. The device is capable of making highly accurate distance measurements within 5% and can operate in both dark and bright environments. A built-in histogram provides dynamic cover glass calibration and crosstalk compensation, and on-chip sunlight rejection filters reduce background light noise.

The TMF8801 outputs data through an I2C fast-mode communications interface and an integrated microcontroller, which is featured with all algorithms included on-chip with no need for external optics.

MetaSense A010 is an all-in-one, low cost, flexible and easy to use 3D ToF(Timeof-Flight) solution for loT applications. It consists of an on-board 100×100 array ToF sensor and ToF processor, which combines ToF sensing, ToF signal processing and application algorithm on a single board. It integrates the following algorithms: Specific applications, such as ranging, multi area human body positioning and sensing, posture monitoring, posture control, keystone correction, etc. These features are widely used in loT applications like white goods, L aser TV, smart projector, smart illumination, smart parking, smart home facilitis.etc.

MetaSense A010 is power supplied via USB2.0, and it outputs ToF depth data and RGB image at a speed of 30fps. With its sophisticated optic, electronic and high-accuracy algorithms are able to calculate depth data as accurately as at the millimeter level. Dual support ROS system, open ROS1 + ROS2 access function package, can quickly obtain depth data and depth map.

MS-A010 has strong compatibility and is based on serial protocol. It can be connected to single-chip development boards such as K210 bit or Linux development boards such as Raspberry Pi for secondary development. It uses the serial port protocol to provide interfaces and transmit data. The physical interfaces we provide include type-c (virtual serial port) and a 1.0mm 4pin motherboard (UART), which can obtain depth map data for integration.

what is TOF technology?

It is a method of distance measurement, which calculates the distance between the two by measuring the “time of flight” of signals such as ultrasonic/microwave/light between the transmitter and the reflector. It is the TOF sensor that can achieve TOF ranging. The most commonly used is infrared or laser ranging.

There is a difference in the distance between the objects. The module displays the cold and warm colors through the difference of the captured depth values. The cool and warm colors change with the mapping of the distance.
