Thermoelectric Coolers, also known as TEC or Peltier Module creates a Temperature Differential on both sides i.e. it creates a cold side and a hot side when DC power is applied to it. TEC1-12715 12V 225W Thermoelectric Peltier Cooler Module is a semiconductor based electronic module that functions as a small heat pump. It transfers heat from the cooler side to the hotter side by operating on the principle of the Peltier effect. They can be used in applications like cooling computer CPU, CCDs, portable refrigerators, medical supplies, and equipment.

Note:

  1. Always ensure that you apply a heat sink at the hot side of the module to carry the heat away from the side so that it can transfer heat from the cold side and do not reach stasis and stop transferring the heat. You can use a cooling fan to carry away the heat from the hot side.

  2. Heat side requires heat sink all the time. Do not run this device with a power supply more than a few seconds without a heatsink mounted to the device.
