Holybro introduces this new GPS for you to work with PIXHAWK4. It has UBLOX M8N module on it, as well as IST8310 compass and tri-coloured LED indicator. Additionally, the Safety switch on it will make the connection more convenient and simple.

Out of the box, this GPS module comes with Mounting Stand with two (70mm & 140mm ) carbon rods.

Pixhawk  4 is the latest update to the successful family of Pixhawk flight controllers. It is designed and developed in collaboration with Holybro and the PX4 team, optimized to run the full Dronecode stack and comes preinstalled with the latest PX4 firmware (v1.7).

It features the currently most advanced processor technology from ST Microelectronics, sensor technology from Bosch, InvenSense and a NuttX real-time operating system, delivering incredible performance, flexibility, and reliability for controlling any autonomous vehicle.

This GPS module is based on the NEO-7M, and can be used for satellite positioning. The module supports NMEA standard protocol output, built-in FLASH, and can save the setting information after power-off without external EEPROM. This module has an onboard ceramic antenna, which can easily locate the satellite in an open place without an external antenna. It is also welded with an SMA head, which can be used for an external antenna, to make the search positioning ability stronger. When using, you can debug the GPS module using the data cable via the micro USB interface. Or through the reserved serial port interface, use USB to serial port modules or external MCU to receive the GPS
information.

  • VCC: Power supply (3.3-5V)

  • TXD: module serial port transmission pin (TTL level, can not be directly connected to RS232 level), can be connected to the RXD of the microcontroller

The SE100 is a popular GPS module made by RadioLink. The module comes plug and plays with a cable to connect with the Pixhawk & APM flight controllers. It can also be used with most open-source flight controllers, such as the PX4 and iNav FCs.

Unlike some of the cheaper GPS modules on the market, this one uses genuine components. It utilizes a U-Blox M8N GPS receiver and QMC5883L digital compass, so you can be assured of reliable performance. This article demonstrates how to play with the u-blox NEO-6M global positioning system (GPS) module, a very popular, cost-effective, high-performance GPS module with a ceramic patch antenna, an on-board memory chip, and a backup battery that can be conveniently integrated with a broad range of microcontrollers. Nowadays, two NEO-6M GPS modules are extremely popular — the GY-GPS6MV2 and the GY-GPSV3-NEO

As indicated, the GPS modules are based on the u-blox NEO-6M GPS engine. The type number of the NEO-6M is NEO-6M-0-001, and its ROM/FLASH version is ROM 7.0.3 (PCN reference UBX-TN-11047-1). The NEO-6M module includes one configurable UART interface for serial communication, but the default UART (TTL) baud rate here is 9,600. Because the GPS signal is right-hand circular-polarized (RHCP), the style of the GPS antenna will be different from the common whip antennas used for linear polarized signals. The most popular antenna type is the patch antenna. Patch antennas are flat, generally have a ceramic and metal body, and are mounted on a metal base plate. They are often cast in a housing. For more information about u-blox reference designs, see their website. Remember, the position of the antenna mounting is very crucial for optimal performance of the GPS receiver. When using the patch antenna, it should be oriented parallel to the geographic horizon. The antenna must have full view of the sky, ensuring a direct line of sight with as many visible satellites as possible
